Food (C)rave: PAUL Boulangerie & Maison Kayser

Being a true fan of baked goods,
I feel the need to taste each & every bakery
around the world. FYI, it's a calling, a life mission.
So when I heard that PAUL & Maison Kayser
were going to open for business
on the shore of Singapore,
I was thrilled!

Next thing I know, I was already in Lion City
by the time they had opened their shops.
It was another sunny morning in Singapore
when I tried to find my way to Scotts Square.
Around 8.30 AM, I found Maison Kayser
in the basement, already filled with few people
who were enjoying their breakfast.

After having a hard time choosing my order
(everything looked sooo good!), I soon
joined the breakfast club.
Pain au Chocolat & Chocolate Eclair
were served to my table.
Frankly speaking, I wasn't impressed
with their baked goods, sure it's good,
but nothing special. Probably,
I set my expectation too high. :|

And what about PAUL Boulangerie?
PAUL was so packed by the time I got there.
It was around noon & I needed to rush
to the airport. So, I just managed to get myself
a takeaway from PAUL.
Pain au Chocolat & Viennoise Chocolat
Here's my secret technique;
every time I'm trying out a new bakery,
I will order their Pain au Chocolat
to score how good the bakery is.
So yes, I bought another Pain au Chocolat
when I was at PAUL.
Good news: Their Pain au Chocolat
was slightly better than Maison Kayser's.
Even better news: PAUL fully won me
with their Viennoise Chocolat.
You should try, it's really really good!

Can't wait to try other stuffs from PAUL. :)
